Q: I paid for the competition; why haven't I received my registration packet yet?
A: The registration packet is an email that is generated automatically when you sign up for the contest. The email contains your username, password and link to download the GSTrainer platform. If you have not received this email, please check your spam folder. If you are still unable to locate the packet, send us an email at info@toptradercompetition. We will resend the packet.

Q: What exact time does the competition start?
A: The competition starts at 6:30 AM PST on the posted start date on the homepage.

Q: What type of contracts can I trade? How many contracts can I trade at once?
A: Due to popular demand, we have added additional contracts to our competition: E-Mini S&P, E-Mini NASDAQ, Mini Russell, Euro Currencies, Gold, Silver, Crude Oil, DAX, Euro Stoxx 50 and 30 Year T-Bond. There is a limit of 5 contracts per market.

Q: When I try to log on, it asks for server name and proxy; what do I input there?
A: Input the following credentials:
  Server Name: paper_gstrainer_rcg
  Host: sim1.gstrader.com
  Port: 5101
  Proxy: leave blank

Q: I do not have a Paypal account. Can I pay by check or credit card?
A: Competition registration must be paid through Paypal. If you cannot to pay using this method, you will not be able to participate in this contest.

Q: I am not a US resident. Can I still participate?
A: International residents are encouraged to participate in the competition. Prizes will be paid via check or wire transfer, so international residents will be eligible to win.

Q: What hours can I trade?
A: The competition is open 24-hours per day. You can trade any time the market is open with the exception of the daily platform maintenance period from 2:00 - 3:30 PM PST.

Q: I have an automated trading system. Can I enable this on my platform for the competition?
A: The GSTrainer platform is compatible with a wide variety of automated trading systems. If your system is compatible with the GSTrainer platform, you can use the system during the competition.

Q: Can I use any trading platform?
A: All participants must use the GSTrainer platform.

Q: I received my "registration packet," but I did not pay yet. Now that I have a login, can I participate in the contest without paying the entrance fee?
A: Only paid registrants will be eligible to win the cash prizes at the end of the competition. Depending on server space, non-paid registrants may be disabled at any time during the competition.

Q: I am an aspiring professional trader. If I am a competition winner, can I advertise this?
A: Absolutely. Not only will the competition winners receive cash prizes, but they will also receive the notoriety of being the winner of the Top Trader Competition. Winners will also be advertised on the TopTraderCompetition.com website.

Participation in the Top Trader Competitions is FREE.
